The OLOID Review

The Oloid is a superb geometrical piece of fine art. It combines science, technology, and creativity into one molten piece of metal. It was invented by Pau Schatz, in 1929 who was a brilliant German mathematician and inventor. With its numerous aesthetic properties, makes it perfect for your desk and individuals such as visionaries, learners, thinkers, teachers, and children too. The sculptures are smooth and flawless nature enhances concentration and can induce creativity. With its exquisite crafting, and attractive look, that is pleasing to the eyes and mind, it can greatly reduce stress. Let’s look at more properties.

Now, let’s take a closer look.

THE OLOID: A mathematically perfect piece of art

Mysterious shape

Paul Schatz was a great researcher that focuses on art studies, where his intensified studies revolved around Zodiac and space. Later, he realized that platonic solids had the ability to be converted. However, the conversion was only possible with an invertible cube which was demonstrated in respect to the law. The performance was then to be used as a basis for constructing Paul Schatz Oloid. The Oloid’s surface was developable meaning you could flatten it and form a place. While rolling the Oloid each point on the Oloids body touches the surface on which it is rolling. Compared to objects such as the sphere and cylinder which are axially symmetric, during rolling, the center moves in meandering motion instead of linear motion.

Crafted using liquid metal

Every piece of Oloid is accurately made to ensure it’s produced under the mathematical perfection. Wax Oloids is first created from an aluminum mould, which is to be used during the process of casting. The Oloid are then dipped in various ceramic materials and melted through a furnace that is around 500 degree Celsius. Molten metal is then put in ceramic molds which must be destroyed in order to get the metal pieces. After that, the pieces will then go through post-modification which includes reshaping and polishing.

Applications

Oloid isn’t just an artwork but has been applied in a lot of different field of technology. For example:

  • Pond treatment – most ponds have a problem when it comes to cleaning performance, which may be caused by poor distribution or oxygen. Oloid helps to induce impulses movements within the water which helps in oxygen circulation. Learn more.
  • Compositing plant – Collection and dumping of seepage water in composition plants or dumping sites results to the release of bad odor but with and if proper treatment is not done it leads to pollution. With Oloid technology, the bad odor can be minimized. Learn more.
  • Used in lakes and horticulture – water protection is an important aspect in both horticulture and lake management. This is because they contain numerous nutrients and plants which must be preserved at a cost and in most cases the conditions are not balanced, but with Oloid you save a lot by using it as an aerator, it reduces the rate at which algae grows and during winter it helps in reducing the ice.
